The beginning of 2018 brought us some good news along with some not so good news. The good news is that our female Wasabi (Abi) de la Tierra Alta is confirmed pregnant and her puppies are due approximately January 23rd. The Sire of the litter is Zane de la Tierra Alta. This is a repeat breeding for the second time.
More good news is that our female Nika de la Tierra Alta is now in season and will be mated for the last time with our Czech male Ronin Farma Stekot.
Now for the not-so-good news, on December 26th our female Querida de la Tierra Alta went into labor which was not without complications unfortunately. Querida suffered dystocia (lack of uterine inertia) during labor and even with administration of oxytocin, the labor was stalled. Sadly and even with veterinary intervention, neither of the two puppies born survived. This is the second time this has happened for Querida, so we have chosen not to breed her again.
